I love coming here! My food is always right and I love the vibes. I never have a bad experience no matter which waitress or waiter I get when I come in. They always greet you with a smile and "hello friend"! It gives where you been, we have so much to catch up on vibe and I love that!
This review is about the service, food and atmosphere at the River City Diner We visited today about 1:30 PM and had a late lunch. The service was the best we've had in a long time. The attendant checked on us often, was friendly and easy going. We were impressed with the quality of the service. The food was delicious, hamburger, cheese steak, onion rings and fries were our fare. The limeade, a treat you don't see often on the menu was awesome as was the root beer. The food arrived quickly, home cooked and hot. The atmosphere of the establishment can best be described by the photos. The owner must have taken great care in the outfitting and decoration. Beautiful design. We can't wait to return!

We love going to River City Dinner. It’s a staple for our family and many others in the area. Being a family with young kids, we especially love going on Wednesday nights for “Kids Eat Free” - 2 free kids meals per adult (kid’s meals are for ages 10 and under and includes a drink). They serve breakfast all day - so, you can enjoy anything on their menu at anytime. I don’t think we’ve ever had a bad experience here. The waiters/waitresses are all very friendly and accommodating. We’ve gone with just our immediate family of five, with extended family members, large groups and as a couple. You can’t really go wrong eating here.
I drive past this diner often not knowing it was going to be the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. This felt like home and the price was amazing for the quantity and quality of my meal. Walter was my server was so kind and great. Will be back again and again Also, their fresh squeezed limeade/lemonade was so good!
Reminds me of diners back home in Philly! This is a traditional 50's nostalgic feel all American diner! The best central VA has to offer. The food and atmosphere are stellar, service even better! Alison is the best make sure you request her to take care of you on your visit! They have a solid loyal customer with me, great experience every time!!!
A fantastic diner! I look forward to coming back again. The waffles were very good with a crispy outside. Not sure if it was the bread or the spices used in the French toast but it tasted great. Eggs and bacon were good too. Our waitress and hostess helped and were polite.
